APPLIED ENGINEERING SLASHES MACINTOSH ACCELERATOR CARD PRICES
NEW "STEP UP" UPGRADE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
Dallas, TX (August 17, 1992)-Applied Engineering, Apple's oldest third party
developer, dramatically reduced prices across its entire line of TransWarp
accelerator cards for the Macintosh. Cuts range from 23 percent to as much as
48 percent and are illustrated in the attached chart.
'Through ongoing engineering and manufacturing effort, we are able to pass on
both savings and performance improvements to our customers," said Robert J.
Carroll, CEO and President of Applied Engineering. "Our RD&E personnel continue
to find ways to improve speed while reducing cost."
Step Up Upgrade Policy Announced
--------------------------------
Applied Engineering also announced a new product upgrade program, "Step Up,"
which enables current accelerator and four port serial card customers to
upgrade to a higher performing product for the difference in list prices. For a
sixty day period, anyone participating in the "Step Up" program will also be
able to purchase any AE product for 20 percent off. The promotional period ends
October 16, 1992.
"We want to get this exciting, new program off to a great start," said Carroll.
"This way, our customers can move up to higher speed products and enjoy
additional savings at the same time. Step Up with Applied Engineering!"
Dallas-based Applied Engineering designs, manufactures, markets and supports a
full line of more than one hundred hardware and software enhancement products
for Apple personal computers. Since 1979, they have sold more Apple enhancement
products than any company except Apple Computer. Applied Engineering is at 3210
Beltline Rd., Dallas, Texas 75234. Phone (800) 554-MACS; FAX (214) 484-1365.
